Christian Street Court is a landmark mixed-use redevelopment project located on the first block of North Queen Street, just a half-block from Penn Square in the heart of Lancaster City. This transformative project by Meeder Development revitalized a critical section of downtown by preserving historic architecture while introducing modern functionality and renewed commercial vitality.

The project reactivated long-dormant upper floors—over 50,000 square feet—by converting them into first-class office space, all while retaining the character of the historic structures. Storefronts along North Queen Street were thoughtfully restored, and a bold new identity was established for the rear-facing buildings along East Grant Street and North Christian Street.

With minimal demolition and the strategic addition of a small integrated parking deck, the project exemplified adaptive reuse and urban infill development.

In recognition of its design excellence and preservation impact, Christian Street Court was awarded the prestigious C. Emlin Urban Preservation and Re-Use Award in 2003 by the Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster County.

Today, Christian Street Court stands as a model for how historic downtowns can be thoughtfully renewed to serve modern needs while honoring their architectural legacy.
